I may have a problem . . .

Yep.  I made more hats.  Mum's hat went MIA and my Aunty needed one and Master 6's twin friends had a birthday.  So I made more hats.  Just putting off doing housework really, and the tax stuff.  But the tax is sorted now and the hats got finished in time.
I am loving using the kids toys as models!

I have also finished the binding on the Aussie Hero Quilt but waiting on some printable fabric to make a label.  I did finish the laundry bag and will post a photo when it's all completed.

So just a quick update but will hopefully be back at the end of the week with a bit more of a wrap up and photos of the finished brick quilt and Master 1's as well!

What I've been up to . . .

Yet another hat, a bag for a nieces birthday and 2 more 'boy' seahorses as I have given the other 2 away.  The hat is a Lazy Day hat by Make It Perfect, another hexagon bag by Narioka and the seahorses are Melly and Me.

I am hoping to start on a quilt and laundry bag for Aussie Heroes on the weekend.  Will share the progress!

Hats, dresses and other stuff!

Having a new baby in the house has seriously cut into my sewing time but he is soo cute and cuddly I don't really mind!  But I have been trying to get a few things done.  Master 5 was invited to twin girls birthday party and I thought they would love a new dress each.  It helps when the Cupcake Dress is so quick to put together!  I had the two plus another for a friend whipped up in only a couple of nights.

Both of the older boys have needed new hats for a while and a friend had a new baby so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to make some more!  I forgot to take a photo of the baby hat before sending it away on Friday.

I also finished the No Rules Blocks and put it together in a wall hanging for a friend's wedding recently.  I have forgotten to take a photo of that but might try to remember on the weekend to go around and take one.

The latest on  my finished list is something I have just finished and taken a photo of.  I have made a stocking for each member of our little family after seeing the pattern on the Kids Quilts website.  I think I made Master 5's and the MOTH's in 2007, Master 3 and mine in 2008 (from memory finishing them on Christmas Eve)! and have just finished our latest one's today.  Now that our little family is complete it's one more job I can cross off my list.

The list of things I want to make/sew seems to keep growing without much being crossed off!  I have picked up another Make It Perfect pattern for dresses and want to make some for next year's birthday girls as well as make some nappy wallets for me and a couple of friends.  And there's also all the Christmasy things that probably won't get done before Christmas!

And even more hats!!

Yep!  I have made more hats!  They are so easy now - especially when you only make 2 at one time!  A hat for our new baby, and a hat for a friend's baby due in September.  The nesting must be setting in, or I am procrastinating about cleaning other parts of the house!  I have also joined an online group not to buy any fabric for the entire month of April and to use material in my stash to make things.  I have so many things on my UFO list, that I can be fairly confident that I won't need to set foot in a fabric shop!  I have cut out baby's quilt and would like to get started on it this weekend but I also need to cut the Mr Fix-It quilt.  So many things to make, so little time!

And more hats!

Yep, the crazy is back!  At least this time I only made 6!  2 for nieces that weren't born when I made the last lot, one for a friend, 2 for older siblings I missed last time and another boy one (not shown in the photo - I had already given it away)!  As it was, this lot was sent pretty much straight after I took the photo.  Peggy and Bev's Place held a lovely end of year sewing day on Sunday when I was able to finish the last part of the hats.  I had a lovely day sewing, chatting and eating!  We are off on holidays soon, hopefully the next post will be the pinwheel quilt bound and finished!!  And then I will write a new list of projects for 2011 (it is already on my sewing room door, we'll see how much gets done next year)!

Sew Slack (He he he!)

Well, as the title suggests I have been rather slack in the sewing department of late.  The children finally got better and we've had a trip to pick up our new bed which is exciting but I have now decided that the room needs new curtains.  And a new paint job.  These things shall have to wait for the MOTH (man of the house) to have some time off I think.  I think I have plenty of other projects to keep me entertained until then!  So instead of a photo of more fabric bought (although I did manage to buy more on the weekend), I am going to start posting the pictures of things already finished for the year.  My first finish for the year were these Lazy Day Hats.  I fell in love with the pattern and was crazy enough to start them as Christmas presents last year.  I think I made over 20 in total.  All different sizes and colours and I can say that all the recipients are very happy with the outcome.  Master 4 proudly tells anyone who will listen that 'Mum made my hat'!  Love him!  Especially as his was the first and had a few puckers.  I worked out the puckering issue and the rest weren't so bad.  Well, back to finishing my cuppa and think make sure I can put the bed together!
